Very kind and accommodating people they were very helpful with us when we needed to move in quickly and also allowed as and extra day of leniency at the end as we needed and extra day to move everything into our new apartment after our home was destroyed. The facilities were very nice and kept clean. If you ever need a place to store your stuff this is definitely the place you should use.

JR and Elisha have been great. Our Condo was trashed By Hurricanes Helene and Milton. They were able to secure us two Climate Controlled storage units and then they were able to rent us a 20 foot U-Haul for our move and 10 foot U-Haul’s as needed for storage. Our Guys moving our Salvaged furniture used the Truck’s, Dolly’s and supplies we purchased from them. I could not recommend a better place . 5 STAR SERVICE. EXCEPTIONAL DURING THESE REALLY HARD TIMES. We lost our home for at least 6 months from storm damage - dry out - mold remediation - roof repairs - remodel etc… Thank you JR and Elisha!

My family had rented a unit from another self storage place in the area (rhymes with Smublic Smorage) which raised our rent 3 times in the 3 months we rented the unit, with no reasoning given and no notice. So we started looking for a different self storage place that was still close to our home. We use the items in storage semi-regularly, we just have a small duplex that doesn't have a lot of storage space. We decided to check out Compass Self Storage since our neighbors have a unit there. I apologize for not remembering the owner's name, but when we walked in, he was friendly, he listened to what we were looking for and brought us to 2 units in climate controlled that fit our needs. We had not yet moved out of the other unit, so we didn't have a lock for the new unit. He said, "no problem, I can leave our lock on it for now. Just let me know when you come back, I'll unlock the unit.". Which was great. We rented the unit on Saturday, moved in on Sunday, and we love it. The climate controlled is must nicer and cooler, and the best part (other than the stellar customer service) is that the units are metal and concrete, not wood (like the previously mentioned self storage place). No bugs, extremely low risk of fire, and just a better self storage place in general.

JR was EXTREMELY helpful and made renting a storage unit so easy! First, I called from out of state and he gave me all the details and information -super helpful. Then when I came in a couple weeks or so later he remembered our conversation and set everything up with the same jovial and helpful attitude. I will mention the office is spotless and storage area neat, too. What a pleasant experience.

Last year I went in every self storage area in the Anna Maria Island area and Compass was my last stop. I wish I had a hidden camera for that afternoon. we called and said we needed a few minutes to think it over. The first time we called, we talk to the lady the second time we called. We talked to a man with a Spanish accent. The lady quoted us a certain price and when we called back, the man quoted so much higher price, but eventually agreed to rent at the lower quoted price and then said he needed to go out and see if the space was available and then claimed it wasn’t available. It’s the old Florida bait and switch. don’t believe they tried to rectify anything as they say in their reply. we havent heard from them since, they are liars

My feelings are mixed on this place. Initially it was the cheapest place to get storage. A long term storage rental will be exorbitantly expensive. The rates are increased like clockwork and it gets pricey quick. Be aware of what you're getting into. But, it's the price you pay off you don't have another spot to store your things. That being said, the staff at Compass on Cortez were continually as helpful as they could be while staying within the corporate rules they needed to follow. Bob and Rich are both good people and their help is greatly appreciated. They did try to ease the pain of the rent. Again, beware that long term storage will be a huge money drain. If you don't need the items, downsize instead.

Rich and Rob!! Thank you guys for making a very difficult time in my life a little easier. You see Rich and Rob made me laugh on some of the days I wanted to cry. I needed their services not because I wanted to get a storage unit, but I need to store my life temporarily. They were both friendly, professional, and proficient. Both of these men clearly enjoy working with people and care about meeting their needs. Rob secured a 50% off special on my unit and Rich did a handy man special on my latch when it was giving me grief. Both these guys took great care of me and I truly appreciate their kindness!!
