We did notice when we moved to the new unit that there had been a previous issue of rodents. My son swept out all of the defecation, and put down bait. But that may be become an issue in the future. I’d rate today’s experience with negative stars if I could. The representative who opened on 4/13/2024 was extremely rude to our movers today. They set the doors to stay open which hadn’t been a problem at other storage locations, so they didn’t know the procedures were different here. I could hear her yelling at them from outside in the car. Then she called the mover’s office manager to say they went off on her when that is not what happened! The company might want to check their cameras of how the their employees are treating people. Afterwards she comes storming out of the building saying “$2000 damn doors”. If you want to be treat with respect at the bare minimum, I wouldn’t recommend storing your things here. Update: To make things 10 times worse, she called (without an apology to our drivers for how she spoke to them OR calling their boss to say that THEY were the ones going off on her) asking us to change our review. If I can hear someone YELLING from outside, that’s unprofessional. Point blank, period. Corrective action can happen with kindness, I’ve done it everyday for years! No further calls please….Compass Corporate please pull the camera footage to show that these are indeed the events of this morning! Moving is stressful enough without having to deal with this.

When I went in to sign everything, they were having "technical problems" with linking their printers, but, as stressed as she was about it, she handled it very well! Then, when the unit she first assigned me had problems locking the door, we had to go back to the office and pretty much start over again! But, again, Maria handled it well!! And even though she knew I only need a storage unit for a couple of weeks, and she gave me every break that she could. I will definitely give Compass & Maria an A+, and rent from them for any future needs!

After our unit was emptied, I could not locate my favorite 60 year old rocking chair which had definitely been on the truck from Virginia. I contacted the VA moving company with a photo and they had no clue. On a whim, I emailed Leslie, the manager of this Compass location, with a "shot in the dark" question. I was astounded when she said they found the chair in the hall a year earlier and had been hanging on to it hoping the owner would come along! Leslie even loaded my chair into my car! Steven the manager was incredibly helpful and professional. The process was very no-nonsense and easy. Rented a truck and furniture dolly. Only issue was u haul promised 2 carts and they only had one. But that was an issue with U-Haul not the rental place.

I absolutely love Compass Self Storage. Great business and I never have to worry about my stuff. The nice lady Maria was amazing! She made my visit so special. She walked me through everything, answered every question I had and she made sure I left there knowing all I needed to know. She is amazing with customer service. She is the reason I chose to go with Compass. I know my things with be stored safe there!
