Agreement Between Compass Self Storage and Customer

Welcome to the Compass Self Storage website (the “website”). This website is provided to help customers gather information about self-storage, review availability, reserve or rent storage units, purchase related goods or services, manage customer account activity, and otherwise transact legitimate business with Compass Self Storage. The terms “we,” “us,” “our,” and “Compass Self Storage” refer to Compass Self Storage, LLC, its affiliated entities, property owners, managers, agents, and service providers, as applicable. The term “you” refers to the customer, prospective customer, tenant, occupant, visitor, or other person accessing or using the website, mobile site, phone services, online rental platform, customer account portal, text program, or other Compass Self Storage service.

This website and related platforms are offered to you conditioned upon your acceptance, without modification, of these terms, conditions, notices, and any additional terms referenced herein (collectively, the “Agreement”). By accessing or using the website, making a reservation, completing an online rental, contacting us by phone, opting into messaging, or using any related service, you agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the website or related services. Compass Self Storage may update this Agreement at any time. Your continued use of the website or related services after changes are posted means you accept the updated Agreement.

Use of the Website

As a condition of your use of this website, you warrant that:

1. You are at least 18 years of age;
2. You possess the legal authority to create a binding legal obligation;
3. You will use this website in accordance with this Agreement;
4. You will only use this website to make legitimate self-storage reservations, rentals, payments, account updates, or service requests for yourself or for another person or business for whom you are legally authorized to act;

If you create an account, make a reservation, complete an online rental, enroll in AutoPay, or otherwise transact with Compass Self Storage, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity conducted through your account. We may deny access to the website, cancel a reservation, decline a rental, or restrict services if we believe this Agreement has been violated or if action is needed to protect Compass Self Storage, our customers, our facilities, or our systems.

Use of Mobile Site
Compass Self Storage’s mobile site and mobile-enabled services are provided for the same purposes and under the same conditions as the website. By accessing or using the mobile site, customer account tools, text features, or mobile rental functions, you agree to this Agreement. If you do not accept these terms, do not use the mobile site or mobile-enabled services.

Use of Digital Call Records

Compass Self Storage may use technology that records, transcribes, monitors, or analyzes incoming or outgoing calls for quality assurance, customer service, training, compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and operational purposes. A notice may be played or otherwise provided at the beginning of a call to advise that the call may be recorded. By continuing the call after receiving notice, you consent to the recording, monitoring, transcription, analysis, and retention of the call to the extent permitted by applicable law.

1. Compass Self Storage employees, contractors, agents, authorized representatives, service providers, or other trusted third parties may access recorded or transcribed calls for legitimate business purposes;
2. Recording, transcribing, monitoring, analyzing, and archiving calls may include personal and non-personal information provided during the call, including account, reservation, payment, and service-related information;
3. You are responsible for determining whether continuing the call after receiving notice is appropriate for you. If you do not wish to be recorded, you may discontinue the call and use another available contact method where applicable.
4. Compass Self Storage will handle call recordings in accordance with applicable law and our privacy practices, but we are not responsible for information voluntarily provided by you during a recorded call except as required by law.

Prohibited Activities

The content and information on this website, including unit availability, pricing, promotions, facility information, account tools, rental path, product information, and service descriptions, are owned by or licensed to Compass Self Storage or its service providers. You may use the website only for personal or legitimate business purposes related to evaluating, reserving, renting, paying for, or managing storage services with Compass Self Storage. You may make limited copies of reservation confirmations, rental documents, receipts, notices, or account information for your own records, but you may not otherwise copy, modify, distribute, sell, resell, scrape, publish, or commercially exploit any website content, data, software, products, services, or units obtained through the website.

Additionally, you agree not to:

1. Use this website or its contents for any unauthorized commercial purpose, competitive purpose, data collection, resale, or lead aggregation activity;
2. Make any speculative, false, duplicate, misleading, fraudulent, or unauthorized reservation, rental, payment, account update, or service request;
3. Access, monitor, scrape, crawl, copy, index, or extract content or information from the website using any robot, spider, scraper, automated tool, artificial intelligence system, or manual process without our express written permission;
4. Violate the restrictions in any robot exclusion headers on this website or bypass or circumvent other measures employed to prevent or limit access to this website;
5. Take any action that imposes, or may impose, in our discretion, an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our infrastructure;
6. Deep-link to any portion of this website (including, without limitation, the rental path for any self storage related information) for any purpose without our express written permission; or
7. “Frame”, “mirror” or otherwise incorporate any part of this website into any other website without our prior written authorization.

Supplier Rules and Restrictions

Separate rental agreements, facility rules, state-specific disclosures, insurance or tenant protection documents, AutoPay authorizations, delivery acceptance addenda, package procedures, lien notices, and other terms may apply to any storage unit, parking space, product, service, or account activity you select. You agree to comply with the applicable rental agreement and facility rules, including payment of rent, fees, taxes, surcharges, merchandise charges, insurance or protection plan charges, and any other amounts when due. Violation of applicable terms may result in cancellation of a reservation, denial of access, termination of services, default under the rental agreement, forfeiture of promotions, additional charges, collection activity, lien enforcement, or other remedies allowed by the agreement and applicable law.

Other trademarks, service marks, graphics, and logos may be owned by third parties. Your use of the website does not grant you any right or license to use any Compass Self Storage trademark, service mark, logo, or other proprietary material without prior written permission.

Promotion and Offers

Promotions, discounts, manager specials, online pricing, introductory rates, and other offers are subject to change and may be limited to new customers, specific units, specific facilities, online reservations or rentals, qualifying customers, or other stated conditions. Promotions are subject to availability and may not be available on transfers, additional spaces, existing rentals, or past-due accounts unless expressly stated. Taxes, fees, administrative fees, invoice fees, merchandise charges, insurance or protection plan charges, and other charges may apply. Unit sizes are approximate, and customers should inspect the unit before renting. A reservation may be required to hold a price, but pricing, availability, and offers are not guaranteed until the rental is completed and accepted by Compass Self Storage.

Smart Locks, Technology, and Access Tools

Compass Self Storage may offer smart locks, access tools, kiosks, gate systems, online account tools, AutoPay, digital signatures, text reminders, chat, voice, or other technology-enabled services. These services are subject to availability, facility capabilities, system limitations, connectivity, customer eligibility, and applicable fees. Technology services may be changed, suspended, or discontinued at any time. Unless expressly stated in a separate written agreement, technology-enabled services are provided without warranties of uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or compatibility with every device, carrier, browser, or system.

Refunds

All rental transactions are final unless otherwise required by applicable law or expressly stated in the applicable rental agreement. Customers rent on a monthly basis. The rental period begins on the date the rental agreement is signed or otherwise becomes effective and continues through the applicable monthly anniversary date unless terminated in accordance with the rental agreement. Rent is not prorated for move-outs, and customers are not entitled to a refund for unused portions of a rental period, including prepaid rent, unless required by law or approved by Compass Self Storage due to an error. If your account is overcharged due to a verified Compass Self Storage error, we will make the appropriate account correction or refund after review.

Merchandise sales, including locks, boxes, packing supplies, and other retail items, are final unless otherwise required by law or approved by Compass Self Storage. Approved refunds may be issued by check, payment-card credit, account credit, or another method determined by Compass Self Storage.

Disclaimer

The website and related online services are provided by Compass Self Storage on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Compass Self Storage makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, regarding the operation of the website, the accuracy of website content, the availability of units, pricing, promotions, account tools, technology services, or any products or services displayed on the website, except as expressly stated in a separate written agreement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Compass Self Storage disclaims all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, accuracy, and non-infringement. By opting in, you consent to receive marketing and/or nonmarketing mobile messages from Compass Self Storage, including messages sent using an automatic telephone dialing system or other automated technology. Consent to receive marketing text messages is not required as a condition of purchasing, reserving, or renting any goods or services.
