Just want to say Gary and Chase are some pretty standup guys. As a guy that will most likely use these units for work, I would say that I feel really comfortable with this type of Environment. They’re not in your face and poking into your business like other places, and they treat you with respect. Going to tell some other guys of my other unit about this place.

This place will just raise the rates on you every 6 months, even for a parking space. The grouchy old guy tried to give me lecture on economics when I asked about it and told me it's not a loyalty business. They still list lower rates on the website but he said he couldn't give me that. He also told me he knows what everyone else is doing and he knows their rates. I hooked up my boat and left and found another place for cheaper and they haven't raised my rate in over a year. Wouldn't recommend this place at all, especially for a parking space.

Update: while the staff was friendly, I have had a storage space here since May (6 months) & just received my 2ND rate INCREASE letter. So if you store here expect a rate increase every 3 months. My costs are up 51% in 6 months. DM will not return call. I wouldn't store here if you have any other options. May cost = $246, November = $375

The manager at this facility is Kesley Lewis. She is unprofessional and incompetent! She has horrendous customer service skills and she is very bad at her job! It’s too bad because the storage factory itself is nice, however if management is bad there is no way to tolerate the situation!

We had a great experience, zero issues and they even let us cancel our lease with a grace day so we didn’t have to pay a full month!

Chase was the best help in finding the perfect storage for us. He helped us in a timely manner and answered all of our questions with confidence.

Chase has been very helpful in setting up the unit real quick. All the staff members are extremely helpful .

I've been looking for a property like this and found myself wandering around Frisco in search of what I needed. I came across Compass Self Storage in McKinney and was greeted by the two managers, Gary and Chase. Gary was very knowledgeable about the property when showing me around and answered all my questions. He articulated the history of the property and it's policies very well. Chase was also very knowledgeable and personable. I can't say enough about how smooth the entire process was. Compass Self Storage will set you in the right direction ?

Public Storage sucks you in with initial low monthly rates and then a few months in they jack up your rates a little bit each month! It’s insane. Came to Compass today and was helped by Gary. Be very careful when signing up for a storage unit here, they are very warm and welcoming when we sign up, but do not tell you how frequently they raise rents. They raise rent by 10-15% every 3-4 months. Their strategy is to get you signed up and once you have moved all your belongings inside the storage, keep raising the rents every 3 months clearly knowing that you can't move all your stuff out now, very deceitful. When someone questions, their one liner standard answer is...its corporate decision and we have no say in this. Also, they force you to leave a positive review while signing up knowing well that you would never do that in a couple months staying with them. STAY AWAY!

I have had a various units at Compass Self Storage over the last couple of years. I had used other self storage companies before coming here. This Compass is my favorite. The staff makes all the difference. Chase, Gary and Sally are all fantastic. My most recent unit was nearly effortless on my part. Gary recommended a unit for what I was storing. Chase handled it over the phone when I called in to rent it that day. I like that I can access my unit any time. Coming in from Houston at 2 am with a trailer load of things is no problem. The property is well kept. You can always find Sally working to keep the property clean, organized, maintained and safe. She's painting numbers, outlining spots, changing bulbs and picking up trash. She's always working on something. Another time when I was storing my motorcycle and a car under covered parking, she recommended the spot to get so that I could secure my bike a certain way to prevent theft. So, I choose to drive the extra mile and possibly pay a little more for storage, but it's worth it to me for the quality of service I get.
