Compass Self Storage is actively monitoring the situation with COVID-19. Please find below some of the precautionary measures and modifications we are making to ensure the safety of our employees and customers.
Cleanliness/PrecautionsCompass Self Storage is taking extra precautions to closely follow guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other local and national health organizations. We are increasing the frequency of regularly scheduled cleanings and sanitization efforts across our stores. They are also recommending employees take precautionary health measures, including frequent hand washing and staying home when sick. Other precautions include but are not limited to:
- Wash hands for 20 seconds frequently
- Wipe down and sanitize all high touch and public areas multiple times per day including U-Haul and Penske trucks
- Practice social and physical distancing maintaining a minimum 6 feet between customers and other employees
- Only one person in the office at a time – including truck rental customers
- Removing all community items from the counters (candy, pens, key chains, etc.)
Limited People in the Rental Office/Social DistancingFor everyone’s safety at this time Compass Self Storage requests only one customer is in the rental office at a time. We are also asking if you are experiencing any flu like symptoms, please do not enter in our office. We appreciate your cooperation and thank you for understanding. We are asking the same of our employees.
Remote Rental CapabilitiesCompass Self Storage is now offering remote leasing or contactless leasing. To help our team members and those looking for storage, we are working with customers over the phone to help facilitate the rental process.Our remote leasing process allows us to safely rent to our tenants, without our tenants having to come in to our rental office or interact directly with facility management. Please note, our facility management is still on site. We are able to offer a wide range of options to rent remotely including but not limited to; tenants’ ability to tour the facility without management while utilizing site maps, tenant’s ability to complete the rental process over the phone, tenants ability to complete rental documents utilizing email, tenants ability to purchase merchandise and utilize truck rental service without management interaction. We are taking advantage of technology and the use of our phones to safely walk our tenants through the entire rental process while practicing social distancing.
Assistance for college students (One Month Rent Free)We are offering first month rent-free for new customers that are students and families affected by coronavirus. The virus forced colleges and universities to have students quickly move out of their dorms and to ease the stress of the situation, we are offering these students their first month of storage rent-free. Certain restrictions apply and subject to availability Please contact your local Compass Self Storage center for more details.
Essential Businesses and Organizations (Two Months’ Rent Free)We are offering first two months’ rent-free for new customers that are essential businesses and organizations that are assisting in the supply chain to fight the global health pandemic. Certain restrictions apply and subject to availability. Please contact your local Compass Self Storage center for more details.
Curbside Boxes and Packing SuppliesWe are offering curbside boxes and packing supplies so that you can properly store your goods in your unit. Simply place a call to your Compass Self Storage manager and they can walk you through what we have and process payment over the phone. They will then place the items in your trunk/car for your to use.
